Alternative Shuttle Options for T3 Bankstown to Lidcombe line after Sydney Metro City & Southwest from 2025 include replacing Sydney Trains at Yagoona and Birrong with Bus or Light Rail or Ride-Share.

Transport for NSW does not support maintaining the Bankstown to Lidcombe shuttle in the long term future.

It is unclear if Sydney Metro has legitimate planning authority for the closure of Sydney Trains stations outside of the Sydenham to Bankstown corridor (e.g. Yagoona and Birrong).

Campsie to Banktown Third Track Update Cancelled

Plans to upgrade the T3 Bankstown Line for express trains from Liverpool and in future from Western Sydney Airport via Leppington were cancelled due to the Sydenham to Bankstown Metro being announced in 2014.

The NSW Government has announced plans to convert the South West Rail Link (Glenfield to Leppington) into Metro for Western Sydney Airport. 


We oppose the conversion of Glenfield to Leppington into Sydney Metro and instead support extending the Sydney Trains Network from Leppington to Western Sydney Airport.
