The Petition of: residents and commuters of Western and South West Sydney. Brings to the attention of the House:

The (proposed) removal of the Inner West Line train service (Liverpool via Regents Park) resulting in increased interchange/overcrowding at Birrong, Lidcombe and Strathfield.

The removal of express trains on the Western Line resulting in increased travel times in excess of 10 minutes from Lidcombe, Auburn, Granville to the City.

The removal of all direct trains to Central and City Circle for commuters west of Bankstown (at Birrong and Yagoona) due to Sydney Metro Southwest, and proposed removal of all direct City trains from Berala, Regents Park, Sefton, Chester Hill, Leightonfield, Villawood, Carramar.

The removal of direct trains between Liverpool and Bankstown in the 2024 timetable

The lack of NightRide services at Carramar, Birrong, Yagoona.

The need for lifts and accessibility upgrades at stations west of Bankstown such as Chester Hill, Villawood, Carramar.

The NSW Government's Metropolitan Memorial Parks' proposal to convert Carnarvon Golf Course into a cemetery and the involvement of SEC Newgate Australia Pty Ltd with community consultation.

The lack of meaningful community consultation undertaken by NEWGATE for both the Carnarvon Golf Course proposal and changes to the T3 Line (including Sydney Metro).

Unresolved conflicts of interest involving NEWGATE, Sydney Metro, and planning matters along the T3 Sydenham - Bankstown Line corridor.

The undersigned petitioners therefore ask the Legislative Assembly to: retain the T3 Inner West Line from City to Liverpool (and Bankstown) via Regents Park, restore express trains for Lidcombe, Auburn, Granville, Save the T3 and T6 Bankstown Line (Keep Our Stations Open), provide NightRide services and accessibility upgrades for all stations west of Bankstown; and review the involvement of SEC Newgate Australia along the wider T3 Line corridor.​

Future Network Changes under consideration by Transport for NSW and Sydney Metro
T3 Liverpool to Lidcombe line (no direct service to City Circle for Berala, Regents Park, Sefton, Chester Hill, Leightonfield, Villawood, Carramar).
T6 Lidcombe to Bankstown line entirely removed (with potential closure of Birrong/Yagoona Station), the Westmead to Kogarah Metro line between Sefton and Bankstown may only have a single relocated intermediary station.
T5 Cumberland Line converted into 3 carriage Metro (potential extension of Western Sydney Airport line), removing Sydney Trains operating between Liverpool - Cabramatta to Lidcombe, and also resulting on the Y-Link between Merrylands - Harris Park being disconnected.
T1 Western Line will continue to not service Lidcombe. No express trains to Central for Lidcombe commuters.
